Mine shift a lot of sand as well and there are many plants that haven't done well.
But, plants that have done well have either deep root systems that can stand the shifting sand or quick growing stems. Also, it is best to buy from other members where the plants are already adapted to submersed growth.
Plants that have worked in this tank with geophagus are: Swords, Valisneria, Crypt Spiralis, Ambula, Ludwigia Repens and Inclinata, and Rotala Indica.
