    Default New Camera Pics

I bought a new digital SLR for the first time in about 8 years. Here are some of my first pics with it. For the most part, I don't really know what I am doing other than some really basic concepts. (Ignore the stunted state of the discus, they were not being grown out correctly already before I got them. :P )

Not bad for a beginner! You seem to have a fast enough shutter speed to prevent blur and the right aperture to minimize depth of field which makes the heaters and background unobtrusive.

Thanks! I need to think about the background more in the future.

These look like a great start! What type of camera/lens is it?

Kyla - Thank you! I really don't like my phone pics much and really wanted to be able to take better ones of the fish. Yep he's a little dario dario stuffing his face with frozen brine.

Matt - Thanks! The camera is a Canon EOS Rebel T5, the first 5 photos are with the 25mm f2.8 lens, and the last two are with the 50mm f1.8 lens. I've found that shooting through glass and water is not easy, haha. I have the ISO pretty high and not yet using any extra lighting other what is on the tanks. The light on the scarlet badis tank can be much brighter, but I forgot to even try that, I'll have to do that soon.

Female cherry shrimp... it was hard to keep this one in focus, I assume I wasn't able to stay still enough.

Thanks Joe! It's not too hard.... but requires a little money, a lot of patience, and a lot of bad photos in between. :P

Thanks Ricardo, I have looked in the photography section here and there, but wasn't sure where to post these photos since they are of fish.

This is a good section to post pics. The photo section is pretty open in its layout. If you post somewhere and we think it may do better somewhere else, then we would simply move it for you.
