I have had them a week yesterday and they are coming around nicely. Still a bit shy about the light but eating and swimming all over the tank. You can see they are quite pushy with each other so spreading the cubes helps a bit with that. I have also seen some eating the floaters from the top of the tank. I am also changing 90% of the water daily. I started with 50% initially but they were not happy. Increased to 90% and cleaned the tank really well and they are happy campers.

Looking real nice pat. Some feisty ones in the group.

I used to break the cube up and put it in s cup of water let it sit for a few min and slowly pour it. Used to spread them all over and stopped a lot of what you see happening in your clip. Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestion Phil, a lot of it ends up floating and the heckels are eating it from the surface of the tank. Based on the amount of poop in the tank seems like everyone is getting something.

    Get them onto it Phil.
I use to mix some in with my beef heart mix, and also use to soak it for a little while so it would sink, then once they were hooked on it l just put it straight in...they nearly jump out of the tank at me when they see me coming now

For me Joe it is easy to get the heckels to start to eating the cubes when the cubes is at the same level vs floating on the top. Remember these are wild fish.

I have had these guys two weeks today. I turned the lights on as dim as I could for the first time today and they are still uncertain as you can see in the video.

Really looking nice Pat! They seem very active and curious, looked to come right to the surface to with no problem!

I notice some have some really nice big fins, 2 in particular look very tall, can't wait to see how they grow!
