I've been fortunate, I think to have found some nice and complete 60's and early seventies stainless steel tanks here in the Bay Area. They have the incandescent bulb w/housing and a cover on the back with the knockouts. Even have some original literature that was applied to the glass on a NOS tank. Will upload some soon. I might be wrong but the glass in older tanks appears clearer somehow.

Nope.I had a new 50 gallon Metaframe tank and hood in the late 1960s as a child....I think their next and only bigger tank at the time was a 125.
I have 2 5 gallon tanks sitting out behind the fish house. I use to keep killies in them.
