    Default Water change question

So I typically do a 30% wc daily with 50% aged tap and 50% RO. Do you think it would be safe to do a major water change let's say 60% with the additional 30% being straight from the tap, treated with prime?

Of course as long as I kept the ph stable.

    My tank is 150 gallons

I don't believe you would have a problem with that, but it would be more comforting to know if the difference in pH right out of your tap, and the pH of your tap water after ageing overnite are not too far apart - i.e. less than .5, or very close to that.
If so, I would think you would be a-ok.

Comes out of the tap at 8.2 after 48 hours of airation and heating it is at 8.1 my tank is at 7.8 because of the RO mix

I was more worried about the chlorine/cloramine

I see no issue. If you are adding prime or a dechlor then you combat that issue.

As Paul said the major thing would be ph swing but you answered that and it wouldnknmy
Be a portion of the water so it won't swing much anyways

Ya, they are totally fine. Eating like pigs 5 minutes after a 60% wc

With your minimal values of PH swings I think that you can safely get away with even 80% straight tap changes , just as long as you prefilter good enough , to get rid of excess gasses in the water aka microbubbles .

Microbubbles is probably not a problem in Orange County! Why not go to 100%? It's the same amount of work.
