Default Wild Green X Blue Snake Fry

    Hi all,
Some of you may remember my goal of working on Wild Domestic crosses again. Something I had done alot of in the past. The goal was to have my tanks all up and running, Ro water going etc., By winter. Well that didn't exactly happen as planned. One thing after another kept me busy.

I have had some spawning going on but without RO going its hit or miss here, usually I will get low hatch rates. So one of pairs spawned again.. a wild green Male X Blue Snakeskin female. They have been doing so a bit...but usuall the hatches are so low they eat them and start over. This time they left the few wigglers and they attached. Usually when you get a smalll batch like this, the female lays again and the previous ones are goners. With only dozen or so fry I was pretty sure that would happen. I was tempted to help them along so theyd spawn again. I probably should have, because they raised them.
oh well, at least I have a handful so far. I moved the male recently to another females tank, and we will see what happens there.

Anyhow,Ignore the dirty tank and water spots... I really just snapped a few pics at this point to document. I didn't think they would be around long.

Since she's doing so good I thought Id' take the time to take some decent pics. I do wish I painted the tank better! I know I could Post process the backgrounds.

I have no idea how these will grow out, 11 fry doesn't leave you much room for error but this is the first group of discus fry I have bred in quite a while since taking a break. I'm pretty happy about the genetics too.

Let you know how they grow out or if they don't make it.

I am super curious on how these turn out Al. Super nice pictures of mom with the babies.

Rick, I will be sure to tell the head honcho that there is a thread which needs tending.

I knew she looked familiar. Gotta love those Blue Scorpions. I can't wait to see how these fry turn out. Make sure you take progress pictures! We told John you were trying to breed some of his greens to some of my blues, I'll have to send him a link so he can see.

Beautiful... like the rest, intrigued to see the outcome...

Are you separating them until these are on their own and then you will try again?

Sweet looking pair. Do the fry ever feed off the wild parent?
