Have only used ro for water changes plz help

Yes it was I've only ever used ro and have had them for over a year and a half but never done 50% always 25%.
I was inexperienced for a while and thought it would be a good idea to just let the filter do the work and change every month. Bad idea fish got sick and had to treat for fin rot. Only to discover now I just needed more water changes I believe to keep tank healthy.

After adding discus essentials it was only up to 70ppm

Let's do this simply.

1. Buy a couple of 5 gal buckets from Home Depot and make some R/O water.
2. Leave your breeding pair alone and let them thrive in your tap water
3. When they start cleaning the cone, drain 10 gals out of the tank and replace with R/O water
4. No adds necessary
5. Sit back and enjoy
