Default Smart Phones... dang good cameras!

I remember when smart phone came out with their cheesy little cameras , really not good for much. Those days are long gone. The camera systems they build into smart phones are incredible now. Even my older Samsung galaxy S5 comes takes some pretty good shots... Its got a 16MP camera built into it! That kind of imaging size is actually bigger than the Pentax K20D I use to post many of my pics here. Granted you don't have the interchangeable lens but still. You can really do some seriously nice work. And its easy and fun. No bag of gear, no extra cost, many imaging apps are available to customize pics in your phone..

Thought I would start a thread just for smart phones and tablets... Post some pics, what can you do with yours?

Great idea for a thread Al, a lot of people don't realize how good these phone cameras have gotten in the last 10 years. Here is a totally random colleciton of phone shots. I can't say I'm very artsy with the phone, but it works.

Don't forget about phone's ability of panoramas!

A few random pics from my cell phone. Only cropped slightly so they would be upright when attached.

Downtown Orlando Al. My sister was in town and I took her to see the Christmas decorations at night. It was really cool.

I am very satisfied with this camera. The super slow motion feature is super fun to play with. 960fps in your pocket! Selective focus, pretty powerful PP options if you want and a laundry list of other stuff. Still putting it through its paces but so far so good.

love being able to control exposure and ISO on the newer smart phones. It makes it easier to get all the colors and not wash out light colors.

I don't like the fact that with my phone 8x12 is about as big as I can print to have it turn out nicely.

I also like the fact that I can get closer to the subject with the cell phone than I can with a DSLR without using extension tubes.
