Found an otter too. It was kind enough to come ashore.

Second time shooting Woodducks and it was nice to get them relaxed and not worried about me.

i can see you're having lots of fun with this Pat Nice work once again
We're here for a good time...not a long time
Those are fantastic pictures. They are gorgeous. You really have a talent for that.
Since you're on the migrating birds topic. I actually saw these at a local park in Southern California. They looked very out of place and like no goose I've seen in our area before. I snapped some pics then saw a local news story about the "Egyptian Goose" and how they are thousands of miles of their migration pattern and have been spotted here.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! - Hunter S Thompson
Hi Casey, woodducks are not migratory but permanent residents of Florida. Cool on the geese. Was there a reason given on why the Egyptian Geese were in your area?

Beautiful pics Pat. We collect Wood Ducks, decoys mostly. Our favorite ducks for sure. Many different duck breeds live in the local ponds here, but not WD's.
Barb
Thanks Barb We see mostly wood ducks and Mallards as permanent residents. What types of ducks do you see around your area?

You really take full advantage of your surroundings.
Always enjoy your pictures.

Well Pat, I obviously made a fowl and don't know what the duck I'm talking about when it comes to migrating birds. I would send you the bill for these jokes, but I'm having trouble removing it so i'll send the whole duck.
As far as the Egyptian Goose is concerned I'm not entirely sure why some of them have arrived here to nest. I think the local news said "scientists are baffled and working on a theory why they migrated here instead of their usual destination."
I have a pretty nice camera and lenses. I never carry it around. I should really start taking it with me and take pictures of things. The problem is i have 0 idea about shutter speed, aperture, light etc... Moreover, I don't have a program that I can edit pictures with. That is why I've been using my IPhone. It has more editing software than I own. lol

Casey, I would not discount your phone capability for taking pictures. If you ever decide to dive in deeper there is an active Photo Centre here. As a manner of fact I was the Photo Centre's guinea pig student and you can liberally track my process thru threads in the Photo Centre.
