Didn't want to hijack Dylan's thread lol but thought I'd share something I found for the 40B. I wanted to avoid filter socks so was trying to figure out the best way to have my sump intake run through my poret and make it easy to work with. I found these Rubbermaid commercial food containers on Amazon. They fit perfectly on the rim of the 40B. I cut the bottom out and used egg crate. The photo only shows the 10 and 20 but now I will be using the 30 as well

Haven't put it in action yet and test run went flawlessly with my pump full blast. 3252017162248.jpg3252017162532.jpg3252017162556.jpg

    Wow man that's a beauty!!

I've been working on one of these! I have down to mounting the electronics.

This is not my video...fyi...just demonstrating what I'm working on.

I'm making it a drop in design to fit inside an aquarium sump like our 40 breeders...I already have some design changes for the next version.

Aside from my hideous silicone job. I used those ge squeeze tubes. Never again. Lesson learned

I purposely way overbuilt it so when I finally upgrade tanks I don't have to redo the sump. This thing should have plenty of media to filter hundreds of gallons. There is close to 400 bio balls in the wet dry alone lol

That's a small fortune in bioballs! LOLl
Here is the roller filter, figuring out how to mount the drive motor and electronics.

poret will come after this for a BB bed.
I like poret a lot, and I like it even more if you can do a lot of mechanical filtering before it to keep it nice and clean.

I'm going for the wow factor on this one. But truth be told...I just love engineering aquarium stuff!
So it will go from the roller filter, to poret, return runs through a big OceanClear canister, to a big Purigen reactor and back to the tank.
