I would wait it out and see if the male is viable.
So, the good side here is that I've got a couple new fish doing what I was hoping they would do. Unfortunately, it's in QT, and not with their intended partners. They spawned last night. It's a pigeon/non-pigeon pairing. I don't want to encourage them. Should I pull the cone with eggs, or let it run its course, maybe confirm the male? After QT the new female is a GF going to a male I have. The new male is part of a PB pairing I'm hoping for.

Yes, that's what I'm planning. I don't want them carrying fry, but that's not likely to be a problem in QT with a group of 5.

You have to do the pulling a few times unless the
male is very fertile on first spawning. Males have
an very inconsistent fertilization record.
