    Do you add methylene blue when pairs lay eggs?
    Let's discuss pros and cons.

    I've used Meth Blue, it really helped the eggs from growing fungus. Discus spooked just a little seeing the blue ink spreading the tank. But I haven't seen any cons.

    MB is optional and does not help with fertilization.
    Pros:
    - Protect eggs from fungus
    Cons:
    - Will stain equipment
    - Large water change is required to remove the stain.
    - It may cause defects if fry are expose for too long.
    - Will kill beneficial bacteria
