    Default Ro/di

Hey guys so I have been looking into getting and RO/DI system for drinking water for my home. I stumbled across this and really like it. For drinking water I really like the remineralization and production of alkaline water for drinking.

The other selling point, for me, is the 1:1 waste to RO water ratio which is far better than all the other units I looked at.

Obviously the remineralization would make the ph too high for discus tanks but the waste ratio may be much more efficient than other units. Just thought I would share

You might want to look into the DI for drinking water. I understand RO is fine for drinking but to disconnect the DI for drinking.

I thought it seemed pretty economical for the price especially with the 1:1 ratio they claim

A quick google search shows that company is either not in business anymore or a scam. I'd be careful. I like my Spectrapure products, always work the way I want them too and their refurbished items are a decent deal.

-Ryan to bad you're not in San Fran itself, as that water is the best!

Oh ya that hetch hetchy water is good stiff. Doesn't get much better than that

Thanks for that heads up also. Read a lot of good stuff but it would appear that they have gone out of business

Not sure. Lot of odd reviews claiming people paid for parts and never received them and no customer service

I've had my Typhoon 3 from airwaterice.com for 14 years. Works great and has a separate feed line and valve for drinking water.

Glad you never made the plunge via credit card.
Secondly...someone please let me know when someone makes an R/O unit that pushes out a 1:1 ratio.

I have been doing some reading about another that does claim 1:1. This is ro with no di with remineralization for drinking. Seems the most efficient systems, with best ratio, utilize a permeate pump. Claims are the permeate pump greatly reduces the amount of waste water produced. If it's truly 1:1 remains to be seen

I have been running this for quite a while now. 1:1 waste and has been performing well for me. I am happy.

Bulk Reef has great videos on the ro/di systems. Which one is right for you, how to get the best out of your unit, and what all the accessories do. I think I must have watched all of them. I found a nice unit 4 stage on Craig's list this past weekend for a planned reef set up and needed to know what I was getting and how to use it. Very informative. I also found this that may be of interest. http://blog.marinedepot.com/2015/01/...reef-tank.html
