    Default Crenicichla zebrina

My lfs just got a (possible) pair of C. zebrina in a shipment from Colombia last night. I'm quite tempted to go for them and put them in the 325 with the green wilds. From what I can find on the net they are a very laid back pike, and I found a thread here from someone who kept them successfully with their Discus.
I'm just worried about the price tag, as of yet undetermined, hopefully by tomorrow I will know more.

I'm an avid pike cichlid fan and kept several species in the past back in Germany, so I'm over the moon to have this opportunity, IF they fit my budget (which to be honest is virtually zero after all the recent acquisitions). I'll have to get wifey's approval on this one.

    Pic from google for reference

i think now they go for around $500 for a 8-12" one. i would assume the pair would be over 1k, more if it's proven. they're pretty rare. one of the few zebrina's i like besides the Atabapo super Red.

No, I'm not even sure if they're male and female. They had some stressful weeks I'm sure, so I'll have to wait and see how they develop in the future. As long as they get along with each other and the discus I don't really care though, a bonded pair would probably cause more trouble than 2 independent ones. If I were to guess from what I can find online I'd say 2 males

They are pretty laid back pikes but I would still keep my eye on them with the discus. They're Crenicichla, after all.
