1st time breeding

I bought 5 discus and plan to let them pair off.

Assuming that they breed, should I:

1) let the fry eat the slime coat of the parents until they are large enough to eat dry food

or

2) separate the fry from the parents?

No question about it, leave them with the parents. How big are your discus?
