    Default WC constant trickle.

    Hi,
I have a 330L (about 100 USg) tank ready to set up for Discus but the only thing that is stopping me is WCs. Having read about this a lot I decided I'd only do Discus if I can do large WCs frequently. Physically I dont have the space, I live in a 1 up 1 down. For the internetional peeps thats basically 1 room upstairs and 1 room downstairs...ish. So I thought if I plumb my 50GPD RO unit straight into the tank and the overflow down through the floor into the cellar drain that will be a good turnover of water.
Problem is remineralising and keeping it balanced, I'd like to automate that too as I'm often missing for a couple of days and they would be in pure RO by the time I got back. Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks.

Jebao makes a very reasonably priced timed dosing pump.

Ah, thanks. I think I've solved it! I have room upstairs right above the only place the tank can go so I'm gonna put a large water butt there and plumb through the floor straight into the tank. I'll drill a hole in the base of the tank for a drain plumbed direct down to cellar drain. I should be able to open one valve to drain then open the other to fill with pre-heated treated clean water. I like simple.

Your plan for easy WC routines sound right to me Mark . Aging barell upstairs with an adjust valve and a gravity driven waterflow and another gravity driven drain with adjust valve from the bottom of your tank.
It should be easy for you to give the proper maintenance disus require with this WC system .
Please share your experience here if you decide to do this .
