Iconic Flour Mill in town

I work right next to this building, been wanting to take some shots of it and ran out Thursday to shoot a few in the little spare minutes I had between work. Didn't have much time to find different angles and the clouds were rolling in fast but I think it came out well. This was shot on the outdoor terrace of the convention center. I definitely want to get more, especially at night since on top of the building is giant red neon that says Adluh Flour. The building seems to work in B&W. Adluh Flour is an iconic fixture here in town, been here for decades. This is a circa 1900 Flour Mill still operating, and the only operating flour mill in South Carolina today. It uses only South Carolina yellow corn and wheat, and only outsources white corn for it's products. And of course tons of local businesses only use Adluh. It's located right in one of the best parts of town, a restaurant/entertainment/bar district known as The Vista only a couple of blocks from the center of downtown Main St. Have a couple of color versions on my Flickr.

Matt I like those alot! You work next to it? Hmmm... talk about something being right in front of your eyes and not seeing it! I hope you sneak out and take some more pics of it....its got a lot of character!

Thanks! Yep, literally right behind the convention center where I work. Has a great glow to it at night with the neon lit up. I have an idea for another shot, I just need to find the perfect conditions for the shot to materialize as it involves a flag blowing a bit off a flagpole where it can be seen and of course good weather. Also a 9/11 memorial right there too where we have 2 beams from the WTC that would be cool as a foreground.
