What is this behavior?
Can anyone tell me what behavior this is?
Do I have 2 females?
The orange one originally laid the eggs.

Re: What is this behavior?
what behavior in particular are you talking about? they are spawning. it looks like you have a pair that doesn't know exactly what to do yet, which is normal for first timers. often times it takes several attempts to get it right. it looks like the blue one doesn't know whether to protect or fertilize. the only way to know for sure if you have a male/female combination is to look at breeding tubes or if you get wigglers.

Re: What is this behavior?
They have laid several times since January. I have yet to get wrigglers. I mean yes they are still young but I've never seen the turq push her away like that while she is laying. And seems as though he never wanted to fertilize like he usually does. Almost looked like he didn't care at all.

its possible you have two females. have you seen their breeding tubes? could you try and take close ups of them next time they breed?
