    Default Does Metronidazole reduce PH

I have an issue with hex, so i am medicating with metro. 2 x the dosage, twice a day. My tank's PH is usually 7.4. 1 of my fish is acting strangely, not eating, being shy. I decided to check my parameters. the PH in the tank is at 7.0, which it never has been before. ammonia - 0, nitrite - 0 , nitrate >5. PH out of the tap is 7.0. PH in my aging barrel is 7.4, the only things i added to the tank are a resin decoration and some glass decor stones. Can dosing with the metro lower the PH that much?

    thanks

I don't think metro will affect PH. If your buffer low, feeding, poop, plants, driftwood, organic stuff will lower PH, could result in ph crash so test you KH. that's all i know, let the experts here take care of the rest
