Default First Discus, of course had to be Hans Discus!

Thank you Hans for putting up with my nagging questions on acclimation, they all look fantastic and cant wait to see what they grow into!
I ended up not floating since the bags were still very warm (thank you again! ) and adding about 2 cups of tank water with a few drops of prime premixed in. Glad I did since there was about 0.5ppm ammonia in the bag water - which is actually a lot less than I would have thought! Let them stand for about 15min in their box and then plopped them in.

They didnt have any issues, were upright and swimming right away and are currently exploring the tank as a group only about 30 mins later.

    Thank you again!
    -Matt

Very cool!! Looking nice, love the background, lends well to the mix of colors you chose!

Never feel bad for nagging as a customer, that is your right and their job. I am sure any good business person will tell you the same and the people I have purchased fish from have been no different! Good luck!

HA! Thanks guys, and Larry, YEP! Already frustrated more than I was before with my stupid water and it starting with 5-10 Nitrate uhg. O well I was planning on daily 30gal changes anyways (55gal tank, I have a 33gal Brute trashcan for water aging)

They are coloring up very nicely already!

Thanks Al! As soon as they are ready to eat they will get to try some of your foods!! (Thanks for the extra samples tossed in btw )
Also, I brew too, beer, if thats what your name implies - in fact I just used my keggle and propane setup to sanitize some rocks for my Mbuna tank

They look really great Matt! So glad you found this forum to share your experiences and learn the joy and passion with people who "get it". It is going to be fun seeing how these guys color and grow.
Day one was an exciting one, you will never forget the excitement your first discus!

Sure wish my tap water was better...grrr...

Left three are the Discus tank
Middle Nitrate test is from the Mbuna tank (60% change yesterday)
Right is NITRATE AT THE TAP - GRRRR

The Discus are not eating, will try again later today (tried your baby bits and freeze dried blackworms Al, they will like it eventually though I am sure )
