    Default Test kits

Has anyone evere tired any of the other test kits, like Nutrafin, Prodac and the ever popular API master test kit ? If any of you ever used any other kit to test our freshwater ecosystems , PLEASE tell us about it.

I rarely test my water anymore. I have always used the api master but I really prefer the seachem nitrate kit above the api

Over this side of the pond JBL and Sera tend to be regarded as the most reliable of the commonly available brands

Same as some of above, hardly ever test unless I suspect something wrong or fish acting abnormal. API master is probably more economical if you're budget conscious but I think Seachem makes a better product. "T"

I already ordered the seachem nitrite and nitrate test kit. So that's on the way, and also has anyone tried the ammonia test card that you just hang on the glass in your aquarium ? It seems to be something you can use when you are a new tank or after you add your fish to a quarentine tank and its only 8 bucks. Take a look at it. I'll take a look at the JBL and sera brands to see what they're saying. Thanks everyone .

Not a fan of test cards, strips etc. Questionable accuracy of info. Rather depend on a quality, fresh, liquid seachem water test. Take your time, follow the steps properly & no worries. JMPO "T"

Tried the test card for a while in my southamerican tank, would not bother again as ammonia should always be 0 and if not the fish will tell you and in that case you are better off running the full range of liquid tets
