Waste water re-use?

Curious here how many of you that use ro water reuse the waste water in some fashion. Aside from using it in the gardens and lawns, I have run it into washing machines, african tanks, and fry grow out tanks to boost mineral contents. Im wondering how or if you reuse your ro waste water?

How do you use it in washing machines? Curious.....seems you would need an on demand pump to deliver water at various times during the machine cycles?

Our well water is hard enough on our clothes. I don't think I'd want to use my waste water there, but some use is better than none. Mine goes to a French drain that feeds a healthy stand of bamboo.

Its was a 44 gal brute barrel. ...gravity fed the washer when you put clothes in....manually stopped washer after spin cycle and filled again for rinse. It was a test to see how it worked...very labor intensive but not as bad I imagine as using a washing board. ..i stopped as it got old soon . I did plan for a tank for the toilet downstairs but it would have taken too much room.

May seem like alot of wk...but being on a well and at the time having thousands of gallons of water changes...if it could help conserve...i probably tried it.

The only issue with hard water for washing clothes is the harder the water the more detergent that will be needed.

My RO waste line goes right into the wash machine....
But my wife hates it...she does not like adding clothes with the water already in there.

I'm currently working on a way to use my R0 waste water as a source water for My Chicken Coops.. Chicken egg shells will probably need a sledge hammer to break open!

That's an excellent idea. I no longer use RO. I found that the Rooibos tee made tap water soft enough to get a good hatch rate and replacing the filters all the time was costly. Back when I used it, I just added it to the aged tap I used on adults and grow outs.

My waste water goes out into a field where it helps keep the pasture green for the cows. Some of it might eventually find its way back to the well where it gets recycled.

Mine just feeds into the growout system. Have always done it this way with nil issues

Willie, my water is just on the verge of breeding quality water.
My recipe comes from Pat. 1 tablespoon of tea Per 10 gallons of water in a lady's knee high stocking works for me, but I don't know your water so I don't know if what works for me will work for you.

I use my RO waste water in my fish tanks including my grow out tanks. Then I use all waste water from the fish tanks to water my lawn and garden. I have some newly grown grass, oranges, grapes, limes, 7 different kinds of chilies, tomatoes and four different kinds of squash growing in my yard right now all being watered by my fish room. I waste nothing. And I owe all of that to Rick and Jim who taught me how to set up my watering system.
