    Default Newbe question.

Hi all, I have an establish tank with various kind of fish.
But I'm turning it Into a discus only tank.
My question is should I start from 0 or can I keep the bacteria in my filter?

I would suggest you keep the bacteria in the filter, since there's no disease in the existing tank. BTW, a bare bottom tank would be so much easier if you're going discus only.

Let me ask you a question, how long can I keep the bacteria alive without any fish?

As long as you need, provided you add regularly a small quantity of ammonia or fish food

I'd start fresh if I were you. There is always a chance of cross contam from the existing tank to the new fish. It's possible now your fish are fine and healthy and may be immune or protected From it.
