If it could possibly cheer you up, assuage the bitterness of your bereavement in some way, and you want to hear something on the flip side of that horrible news, I got a clear scan on Monday. Tumor is down to 1 cm from 5", and that may just be scar tissue I was told. Couldn't be better. 6 months and 8 chemo treatments did the job. No more treatments till a PET scan in six weeks. I couldn't believe it when she told me. I'm sitting there waiting to find out the results of a CT scan, for an infernal amount of time it seemed of course, wondering and worrying if the dagger will be pointed at me or away from me, so to speak, and then the appointment took like five minutes. Almost like, you're good to go, we'll set up a follow up PET scan in six weeks and see me a week later. High five. Cya.
I am one of the lucky ones I guess, but I am aware that in reality my journey isn't over. Bad disease. I have seen my share. Been there, done that. I guess it is an accomplishment, but not exactly the kind of thing one puts on their bucket list - fight and beat cancer. Probably not.
So sorry again about your sister. I hope it was ok to tell my story. Cheers, BK
Thanks Bill, and yep happy to hear your story - any success against this evil disease needs to be celebrated. Glad you are doing good!

I always knew I was going to beat this cancer. It sounds weird maybe, but I just consider it a part of life's grand pageant.
Sometimes your body needs a shock or two to get lively again, so, here we go, a new commitment to excellence. I promise to be good from now on, I will try to stay reasonably sober till lunchtime, then avoid sharp knives and matches after then. To anyone and everyone who has been bitten by cancer, I send you my love. Cheers, BK

I'm happy for all of you that beat it and hope for the best for you.

Paul's sister did not beat it although she was very strong, and we all gave money, and we all hoped.
