    Default New discus not eating.

Hi guys. I'm a newbie and I wish I discovered this site a little earlier.
So I bought 4 discs from a reputable source who imports them from Asia.
I got them about 10 days after he got them in. I was hoping to get 2 pairs so he tried to pick pair of super red dragons and pair of leopard snakeskins for me.
I was doing water changes as directed but couldn't get the fish to eat. I tried every kind of food I could get my hands on I even made some beef heart mix.
Some of thme tried frozen bloodworms but spit it back out. Snakeskins do lot seem to like each other but red dragons on the other hand paired up and even spawned last night. Of course they ate all the eggs can you blame them? It's been 8 days since they ate anything.
I saw some posts where guys are saying that sometimes it takes time and I get that but at what point do I start freaking out?
And also is there any hope that my leopards will pair up in the future. I'm even willing to turn the lights down low and put on some Marvin Gaye lol.
As far as the tanks go, I got 1-125g tank and 1-55g tank both hooked up to 50 gallon wet/dry sump that adds about 25g of water to the system
Red dragons are 6" and 7"
    Leopards are 5" and 6"
    Tx

I would say be patient and persistent with feeding. If they feel like spawning I would assume they don't feel all that bad

Does your source put the imported fish through ant sort of qt process before passing them on ?

I would give it some more time and see if they start to eat as they settle in.

As far as pairing goes I would guess it's a toss up. Most people would prefer to buy a confirmed pair or they go with a large group and allow them to pair off. There were some recent posts on forced pairing also

If you haven't already tried it, get some freeze dried black worm. I have had a lot of large Discus that take weeks to move over to other foods, but can't resist black worms.

Hi guys. My discs still won't eat.
One of my leopards is getting picked on by all others and now is getting darker, I'm thinking of isolating him what do you guys think? As far as black worms go, Im still trying to get some online. No luck yet.

I see al of your tanks are filtered on a same sump.
Could it be they got cross contaminated with hex or something from your previous fish / discus ?

Do you have any other discus ? If you have and they are already mixed with same sump , you might as well put them all together to ease the agression on your SS.

Don't give up on waterchanges and feeding different foods , siphoning the leftovers from the bottom . They are almost grown ups so they can easily go for a month without any food and they are far more slower , when it comes to adjusting to new environment , than juvvies.

Ive noticed that when in the spawning Motions, Discus can go off food (especially when they are a young bunch).
Guess they get distracted by all the action in the tank.

Yes they are all on the same sump. My plan was to breed them in one tank and then move the little ones in the 120 gal tank. That way all the parameters are the same. No I don't have other discus yet. Just the four that I bought hoping that they would pair up. 2 of them did, but the other 2 don't seem to like each other much. Smaller one is picking on the big one it got so bad that I had to split them up.
Now the one that was constantly getting picked on started eating but he's the only one
