Look at the smaller lifegaurd pumps, I've had good luck with them for submersible drain pumps.
I'm looking for a drain pump for my 120 gallon tank. My siphon has 1/2" ID tubing, so the pump's inlet would need to fit this. I've been using gravity but it takes too much time. I don't need an overly powerful pump as I do like to have a bit of time to siphon out detritus, but I would like to be able to drain 40 gallons of water in less than 45 min (what it takes me now).

There are loads of pumps to choose from that will do the job. Any can be adapted to your house size. It's all about what you want to spend really
