Hello all
I have three young discus ( 11 months old) that have " come of age" so to speak.
The female, whom is 13cm laid eggs this last Sunday after courting, another discus. These two discus seemed to have paired up together. Leaving the smallest of the trio feeling sorry for itself in a corner. ( the "male" ate the eggs as they where laid).
This week, the female decided she fancies the smaller on better and they are now courting and have been so for he last 2 days. The female has since been super aggressive to the other discus ( the one she laid eggs with on Sunday)
Is such behaviour usual in young discus. And should I let them sort themselves out or separate them.
She is due to lay eggs again soon, and seems quite happy to do so with the smaller discus.
Hey
Yeah I know, I originally have 5, two however died.
Can't mix these three with discus from other sources locally due to them being imports.
South Africa
Other issue down here is locating quality discus of a similar size.
What beef? Beef is when you got 2 males and one female laying eggs to compete... LOL
Yea, what Ryan said. You are in a bit of a pickle here. Besides your inability to locate quality pieces, you also have a proper QT timeframe if you did it right. Which means at least another month of the trio battle...
I think you need to hustle to add more or these 3 will stay beefin' till one heads to the big battleground in the sky if you catch my drift.
I've screened them off from each other for now.
