Do you have any pictures of the spots? I'm really not an expert when it comes to medication by any means and I really only had success and use the ParaGard before are you near a local fish store where you could try and get some if need be

I am honestly not sure what to tell you to do except to keep trying clean water.

I had some success early on when mixing a group of wilds with a medication called ParaGard it covered a lot of bases yet seem to be mild on the fish
Phil, I agree 100% that mixing the fish was the cause of this issue. I spoke with Kenny and he advised to treat with PP, which I will do over the next 24 hours as much will be neutralized by the Safe I added to the tank during today's water change.

Thanks for the tip on Paraguard, I actually have that on hand too.

Here is the best pic I can get of the spot, I believe that they are slime coat considering how quickly they have appeared. Very difficult to see unless you get an extreme angle and is worse in person. At least 5 fish have this.

Hi Eric, what you are seeing is the fish losing their slime coat. I am going to suggest you use Furan 2 and salt with large daily water changes. Start with salt since you do not have Furan 2 on hand. It would be best to do this in a BB tank if possible.

    Eric,
This does sound like what can happen when you mix stock from different suppliers. Kenny's suggestion of pp is a good first line of defense here as it will oxidize bacteria and thats most likely the cause... large water changes can also help. In many cases this kind of bacterial issue resolves itself in a few days but it sounds like yours are hard hit. Id follow up the pp bath with Salt as Pat suggested ...go with 1 tablespoon per 1 gal water and maintain that for several days. Furan2 can also be used if you want as Pat suggested but since you have kanamycin, you can go with that. When or if to use the antibiotic is your call. Its hard to say if the pp and salt alone will do the trick.

Thanks Al, it is very assuring to have you confirm the approach. They are looking really rough right now, a couple appear to be on death's door, so it is a comfort to know I am doing all I can.

The problem with that is doing water changes = prime = no potassium permanganate. I have extra water aging for tomorrow.

Here is an update video, probably the worst video quality I have ever shot. Between the darkened water and bright day, lots of glare.

The silver PB is lying in a divot in the wood and my now sick turq is lying on top of him. Should I add the salt now or wait until the PP bath is over?

    Thanks everyone.

Man those guys are not feeling good but I have seen plenty of evidence here of how resilient these fish can be when the proper action is taken early enough.

Id add the salt now...it may help with the stress at the least. Just keep tabs on how much you put in and need to replace after water changes.

Thanks Al. I have 1 tbsp per 10 gallons now. Is this correct or should I add more?

    ERIC,
If you can drop your tanks water level it will help by decreasing the volume.
