Default Looking for filter advice for 60 Gallon Setup

Plan is for a 24x24X24 tank with 4 discus X 5 inch. I'm looking to buy all I need over a few months (paychecks!) So I do have time but want to know what Filter option(s) is best. Right now considering the Eheim Pro 4+ Series 350 E as its on sale. But ulitimately, I want to go with what's best for the tank of this size. This will be my first discus tank so I want to do my best to get educated before moving forward with all setup decisions. Thanks

Do you already have the tank? That's not a great footprint for a discus tank. Width is better

I have not yet purchased the tank. I understand that it is less than ideal but I have a limited space available in my family room where the tank will be located.

I would also suggest adding a few more Discus to that group I am not a big fan of the foursome some people may tell you otherwise but I think you should add a couple more

I agree, that foot print is not good for a group of discus. You'll need at least six discus to begin with;a few more would be even better.

OK. I have decided to move on and have purchased a 75 gallon tank that I can get to work in the room. With that said, what filter is best option. The LFS suggested a Fluval 406 and a sponge filter. Will start with BB tank and thinking 6 X 5 inch discus. How does that sound?

I have a 75 and run two Eheim Pro4 350's and couldn't be happier. I purchased this spray bar kit for both and it it gives you a ton of flexibility for directing flow. I point two of the three back towards the tank to minimize flow in the tank and the other is pointed up to break water surface. I had two Fluval 306's and really no comparison, fluval constantly leaking. Eheim much better constructed and has more room for biological filtration.

Aquaclear 110's .... They are all around great hang on the tank filters. ..easy to clean, plenty of surface areas, won't break the bank and they work great 75's .. I use two per 75 and am running about 14 now... They have always been my main filter.
