    Default Rummy Nose Tetras

I was told Rummy Nose Tetras are actually a parasitic fish. The red nose and colored tail of the tetra confuses the adult Discus fish into thinking they are fry so allow the rummy nose tetras to feast on the adult discus slime. Anyone know the truth to this story?

No, that's not true. I've kept all sorts of tetras with discus - including rummynoses. They eat flake food like any other tetras. They do not feed on discus slime. If you have tetras around, fry will not survive.

Where did you hear that? Such a strange little story. They are just tetras, like cardinals or black neons. They don't bother the discus at all.

at first I thought this might be a joke with an obvious answer that was funny. OP I too have never heard of such. Sounds like something someone made up to me.
