I got 7 juvie discus coming from Kenny on Tuesday. My tank is a week into the cycle and has been at 1 ppm of ammonia and .5 of nitrites for the last 4-5 days. Kenny is sending me a cycled sponge with the discus. Should I do a 90-100% water change on Monday or tuesday morning to get the ammonia and nitrites down and keep up with huge water changes daily?

Thanks Pat. Daily water changes and the Prime should keep the ammonia and nitrites at 0?

Kenny will probably hold the fish for you until your tank is ready... otherwise be ready to do 100% daily water changes until your tank is cycled.

I think you should do daily 90-95% water changes untill the tank is cycled. Do a 100% water change just before adding the fishes on tuesday

I would def do a 90% at least before you put them In then daily. I did something g similar that your doing and had no issues. But I did do it with less then show fish from local breeders ( cost much less) unless something went wrong. I also had a already cycled eheim 2213 and cycled sponge filter though. But I have not had any issues in the few months I have had my 7
