    Default Deworming Corydoras

What drug is best for prophylactically deworming Corydoras of internal parasites? I know cories are common discus tankmates so I hope I can get some answers. Some preliminary research of the usual drugs has come up with the following:

    Avoid:
Praziquantel - causes listlessness in cories and discus.
Metronidazole - potentially causes reproductive harm

Candidates (no adverse side effects I could find):
    Flubendazole
    Levamisole

I'd like to hear your thoughts on these drugs, and from those who prophylactically deworm their fish.

I've done this in the past for wild caught cories, but don't do this for farm raised ones. They go into a bucket with airstone, 3 drops/gallon of formalin, for an hour. I watch the fish. If anyone goes belly up, I make a large water change to dilute out the formaldehyde.

I have had no issues using any of those meds on any fish. Of the 3 (flubendazole and levamisole are similar in function), prazi is probably the most important, as it kills tapeworms

Praziquantel for tapeworms and Levamisole / flubendasole for roundworms are the most ussual meds . for deworming .
Listlessness and loss of appetite during the treat.if there are any ,lasts only during the 1 day treatment .Fish are back in normal right after the first water change .

The only issue I know of with wild caught cories is flukes. The formalin treatment described above will knock flukes off the gills. It's quick and effective, and can be done in a bucket. This is the protocol Corydoras breeders use to spawn their wild caught fish.
