Discus stress that causes them not to grow
I have a new tank with a pair that are 10 month that are almost 4 inches and two that I got at a near by shop. One 2.5 inch red and one 2.0 yellow. It's been 2 weeks with the newer fish and the red 2.0 inch one is extremely agressive and picks on the yellow 1.5 inch one. The yellow fish doesn't give up but is clearly stressed. Is showing a little red around face area. I have a 90 gallon tank. Thought about getting more fish but going on vacation for 5 days next week. Any advice?
Also will this stress cause my yellow discus not to grow, as long as it eats and water is clean?

Discus do better in schools which decreases aggression. You really need to have 6-8 in that tank all the same size.

I agree with mike. You should up the number of fish.
Did you quarantine the new fish?
That's your issue now. You have a mixed batch. Adding more now could really mess things up or cause stress.
Where did you get the fish from ?

But will the stress of being chased around cause him not to grow and possibly be stunted, if water is clean and he still eats a lot.

No one knows for sure but eventually yea the stress of being bullied will be an issue

A constant chasing and bullying ends up bad eventually , for the immune system and overall health of the bullied discus .
You should consider adding more discus after your vacation and until then if aggression is too harsh you can separate the bully with a screen or some divider in your tank.
