Wren bringing home food
Little wren bringing home food to the kids who were in the nest in a planted windowbox on the house. Sadly the kids did not make it in the end between a pool, dogs, and other critters. But here is a pretty cool photo of one of the parents. The insect in it's mouth is terrifying.

Great shot Matt! We have many wrens nesting here ....So many we call the place " Wren Hollow" . Looks like a Carolina Wren. Amazing voices for such small birds!

Thanks Al! They are pretty bold little birds too. Nesting near people in the most random spots and always willing to get close to get food when other birds won't dare.

Yeah, they're guttsy little birds. I had a pair build a nest and lay in an out building where I keep tools. I checked on them every day or two and the kids were always there with their mouths open wanting a good feed. One day I went to check and the nest was on the ground and all the chicks were gone. It must have been a snake.
BTW, Good pic.
