    Default Encouraging breeding by iso?

I have 3 groups of Discus in my main tank, Blue Turk, Snakeskin and Red Eagle/Checkerboard, 3 of each group. Had these guys for a month or so, and I see no sign of breeding in the main tank. I was wondering if I put a group in their own tank ex. the Blue Turks, will this encourage them to breed (assuming that there is a M/F in the group)?

Don't know that they care one way or another who they are in a tank with.

Probably giving them pristine water quality is the best thing to do if you want to encourage breeding. Having just three in a tank would likely result in aggression.

I think I've had more luck developing pairs in the community tank than by separating two. I think the social interaction helps. Having good water certainly is required and room for a pair to claim a corner or something like that probably helps.

Hi Rob, I too would suggest keeping them together. How old are these guys. Perhaps they are too young.

I would think they are adults, all of them are of 5" to 5.5", I had a breeding pair before so knowing what to look for, but I'm seeing 0 activity, to 'made' things more interesting, I thought, maybe since I'm in front of the tank they are shy, so I put a camera in front of the tank about month has gone by and don't see anything.
