Default Will temp affect fertility rate?

Just curious if temp will affect the male fertilizing the eggs? I keep my pair's tank at 85-86F should I lower it to 82F? Been reading around the forums and this popped up. I've also been feeding freeze dried blackworms infused with andrew soh's pro-more from aquatic foods to maybe help with egg & sperm development. I do 50% WC daily and feed 3-4times a day.

My last spawn was #3 from this pair and i would say 30% were fertile and hatched but the fungus on the dead eggs quickly took over. As of right now i have 5 wigglers that the pair are watching over. I did however was not home to turn down the sponge filters so the male can do his thing efficiently, will def be more careful with this next time.

Would love to hear anyones thoughts on this.

You would be fine with 83-84F but you really need to focus on Kh/Gh when breeding. Also look into Methylene blue or good ole' hydrogen peroxide to deter fungus.

Thanks for the reply. My pair just laid eggs a few hours ago. I turned off my filter so they can do their thing. From what it looks like 300+ eggs. Hopefully, i get a good hatch rate. Unfortunately, as they were laying I watched the male not making many passes he mostly watched the female as if he was confused. Only their 4th spawn so maybe I shouldn't expect much. Hoping for the best!
