    Don't work for freshwater. I've done tons of research. For a bio pellet reactor to work effectively it has to be used with a protein skimmer. Protein skimmer does not work on freshwater. The waste of the bio pellet reactor is a lot of excess nutrients/biofilm. Without a skimmer to remove this waste it would accumulate in your tank

    Ok, I was wondering how the bio film was handled, Dr Tim's says they work for all aquariums.

    I'm sure, its not any different than dosing vodka and that doesn't work without a good skimmer.
