    Default Rocks

Where does everyone get those big round rocks that I see in most planted tanks?

    Like these in the pic?

Independent pet stores or find a rock bottom river or stream. Google to see if you have a landscaping place near you. Shipping would be pricey to go that route.

Garden , landscape or pond suppliers .
Or better yet , take a walk in nature by your nearest forest or lake and handpick your own collection for free .
Muratic acid - HCL is quicker and more accurate way to test if a stone is chemically inert in water I.e. does not dissolves or leach something over time .

I think that granite is rock hard and safe for aquarium use , and sandstone may increase KH and GH of water so it would be not recommendable for discus tanks .
Anyway , use muratic acid test and if it boils , don't put it in .
