Not sure about the floating issue but poor eyesight is a kn own trait of albino strains
Hi all, here are my tank stats before posting my question:
Tanks:
125 Gallon lightly planted, sand substrate
fluval fx6 filter
temp: 86F
Feeding: 3 times a day (beef heart, freeze dried tubifex worms, pellets).
stock: 7 adult discus, 13 neon tetras (I know the tetras dont do well with high temp- it was a noob mistake), trumpet and nerite snails.
water change: 30% twice a week and 50% on sunday.
Now many months back I made the classic mistake of mixing discus of different sources without quarantine. I suffered a few losses but i was able to save the rest thanks to medicine and high water temp.
I have an albino snakeskin discus from Discus madness (NJ discus store).
He is very beautiful but seems to have no ability to aim his mouth to food! It has been this way for a while now and people have told me that albino discus are blind. Is this a true statement?
Also, sometimes he floats horizontally or slanted. I'm not sure if he is sick or what !!
