Quarantine Procedure

Hi All,

I've just got a school of cardinals to replace the ones that got eaten while I was vacation. They are in a 10 gallon quarantine tank with a cycled sponge filter from the tank they are going into and originally filled with water from the same tank.

What do you do to the fish during quarantine?

Do you treat with anything as a prophylactic?

How long do you quarantine?

Should I add a fish from my main tank to test compatibility?

They are now in the main tank. Discus and cardinals doing well.
