Default Hard Water stains on glass tanks...,Help!

I just bought 12 used 30 gallon glas aquariums. They are drilled and will work nicely as a system run by a single large sump. They have hard water stains I can't get out. I have tried a strong vinegar solution, Bar Keepers Friend and a razor blade. Any ideas you can share?

I have had great success using moistened 1400 grit sand paper. It was suggested to me by a member here, I tried it and it works.

Citric acid or oxalic acid would be good options too.

Lime Away may very well do the job for you, I tend to use something more hard core for tough lime stains on used tanks...muriatic acid. Lime pretty much dissolves or wipes away, but the trade off is you really need to use it in a well ventilated area.

Yeah, well ventilated. I used muriatic acid to remove stains from my in-ground pool when I moved in. Worked like a charm.

if the glass is not yet etched, you can use paper towels soaked in vinegar. They will stick to the tank surface, and after a night most minor deposits will melt away.
