Problem

Q1. Please explain the problems with your fish. When did you notice the problems and did anything unusual happen that you think started them?
A1. Ongoing issue, I think maybe bacterial as one of the previous fish had swollen/cloudy eyes before he died.

Q2. Symptoms (i.e. turning dark, excess slime, not eating, clamped fins, flashing, darting, clamped gills, white/yellow/green poop, hiding, headstanding or tailstanding, white on tips of fins, rotting or fungus, blisters/white zits on fish, bloated, cloudy eyes, wounds).
A2. Turning dark and striped, but main symptom is unusual swimming behaviour. He would 'bob' in the water, up and down constantly but if he was disturbed, he would swim normally away from the area with the others. He laid flat on his side for about an hour last night and is now as in the video. Theres a very small protrusion on his gill which is red in colour but it's no larger that the end of a pin. You may be able to just make it out in some of the videos/picture. His other gill appears to be slightly frayed. He is producing excess slime or shedding the current slime but this isn't too severe at present, it just trails slightly from his fins at times.

Q3. What medications/ treatments have you already tried and what were the results. Include dosage and duration of treatment.
A3. A lot of different medications over the last month. Started with SeaChem Paraguard when the first fish became sick. This made little to no difference. I tried an Interpret anti internal bacteria treatment as I saw the pop eye I mentioned earlier. I also treated for worms using Wormer Plus and a full dose of Octozin by Waterlife. I have also added aquarium salt by API. All have been dosed as stated on the packaging - Never at the same time and with large (80%) water changes and at least 3 days between each.

Tank/Water

Q4. Tank size and ages, numbers and sizes of fish.
A4. 230L tank, did have 8 Stendker Discus, bought at 6.5cm and now circa. 10cm. Now have 4, as 4 have died.

Q5. Water change regime (What percentage and how often).
A5. Usually 100L, once a week (roughly 40%). But at present, 50% each day in the hope it will give him the best chance.

Q6. How long has tank been running? Is it bare bottom? If you have substrate, what type and how deep is it?
A6. 6 months. Not bare bottom - Planted but substrate isn't deep.

Q7. Do you age your water? If you do for how long and what is the ph swing.
A7. I dont age my water, but I use a HMA equivalent filter.

Q8. Parameters and water source;

Note: Water Parameters are important in diagnosing problems within a tank. If you don't own test kits for the following information, you can purchase them, test your parameters and post this info as soon as possible.

- temp - Normally 28 degrees but at present, 32 degrees.

- ph - 7.6 but stable at this level

- ammonia reading 0.00ppm

- nitrite reading 0.00ppm

- nitrate reading 0.00ppm

What type of water or combinations of water sources do you use? If it is an RO/tap/well water mix, please list percentages in the mix.

All water is passed through a HMA equivilent filter.

Q9. Any new fish, plants or inverts added recently.
A9. None

Q10. Please tell us what you feed your fish and how often. This can be critical information for solving the problem so be as specific as you can.
A10. Stendker GoodHeart Beefheart. Twice a day. But the fish in question hasn't eaten for at least a week.

11. Include any pictures or videos you have which shows the symptoms. If you can't add them to this post, please provide a link to them.
