    Default Peppering

Will the peppering go away in young discus once they are in a tank with light substrate?

It will come and go but there is no guarantee that it will all go away. Some have more than others and it is more obvious when the fish is stressed, breeding or trying to blend with its environment. Peppering is genetic and is not only due to dark colored substrate. It may clean up some depending on how much is there initially.
