Default It doesn't look like hexamita?

    Tank stats:
    125 gallon
fluval fx6 (canister cleaned every 2 weeks)
    waterchange : 2 times a week (50%, 30%) tap water with conditioner
    lightly planted sand substrate
    PH 8.4
    Ammonia and nitrite 0ppm
    nitrate 5ppm
    temp: 84F
stock: 10 neon tetras, 1 black skirt tetra, trumpet and nerite snails, 9 other adult discus
New fish added prior to symptoms: No

My turq got dark last week and started pooping chunky white poop. I put him in QT and used Kanamycin and his color went back to normal, but he still isn't eating and poop is the same.
I just began trying API general cure yesterday. (Ive been told to not raise the temp while treating?)

prior to this his poop was brown.

I had suspected hexamita kill one of my other discus but that was like 5 months ago. But this poop is not stringy and thin. It is fat and clumpy.
His fins are displaying high, no clamping.

Any idea what it could be??
(I uploaded the best image of the poop of when it first started)

I really dont think it is hexamita but you guys might know.

    Natalia,
Always hard guessing whats going on looking at a pic like this but three suggestions..

I would seriously move away from using tubifex... its not a good choice for a food, imo.

Its possible you are seeing a bacterial infection .. the fact that you saw improvement with kanamycin indicates theres a bacterial component here.Maybe the duration of treatment was insufficient...it can take up 10 days to knock somethings out.

Hobbyists don't generally like this when I mention it but your snails could be the culprit. They can be carriers of pathogens that can pass onto fish. They act as intermediate hosts for parasites. If people are having persistent problems with their discus and snails in the tank I would suggest removing them to see if the problems resolve.

Great info. Nat . Im Happy to hear that .
Maybe it was hex / Spiro after all , since it reacted positive on raised temps. Sterile And pristine conditions in BB QT tank must have helped here too .
P.S. Tubifex worms are no1 on the list of pathogen carriers foods . Even the dried tibifex.
Bloodworms too follows right behind in this category of notorious foods .
