Default cloudy water in aging barell

I've always had cloudy water after a water change and have been noticing that the water I age before it goes in the tank is cloudy so it must be my tap water has a lot of minerals in it. when I do a water change it stays cloudys only for an hour or two so I guess its not a huge deal but does anybody have this same problem and does anybody have any kind of recommendations to make it less cloudy the fish don't really seem to mind it much doesn't seem like there stressed and haven't lost any fish due to this thanks

Does anybody have any suggestions on this it seems everytime I do a water change I still get cloudy tank water well actually when I age my water in the aging barrel the water is already cloudy so It must be my tap water. my fish don't seem to mind it but was wondering if any of you have experience with this issue and if so any ways to make it clearer it usually clears up in a few hours after the water change thanks

Have you tried filling a container other than your barrel to see if it's your water or your barrel?

Maybe a cheapo submersible uv sterilizer would do the trick ?

If it's some sort of bacterial bloom a uv sterilizer would help to clear it

Some localities have cloudy water straight from the tap. Using a powerhead to force aerate the water for 1 - 2 hours usually clears it up.

At my age, everything is irritating.

An airstone in your aging barrel might help too.

still trying to figure this out just did another water change and I did some tests I put water in a bucket for 24 hrs without airstones and airpump and the water didn't seem to get cloudy what do you guys use to aerate your water do you think maybe the airstones could just be old and dirty causing the aging water to cloud up when the i first age the water in my aging barrel the water is crystal clear but after 24 hours with air stones and heater it goes cloudy. any suggestion are appreciated thank you

If it doesn't bother the fish I wouldn't be concerned about it.

Matt I agree with Liz, but I know when you spend time changing water you want it to be clear. If you can sanitize your barrel and anything in it you might try this:

I use bleach and rinse everything REAL GOOD! I rinse again with a double dose of prime then I let everything dry. This should eliminate any organisms living in and on your equipment. You MUST rinse thoroughly and let everything DRY!!

I do this with both of my barrels about once a month.
