water softeners

Hello I have had my discus for about two months now. I have a water softener but dont use it during the summer months. Was wondering if i turn it on will it effect the tap water that i use now when doing wc?

You better off not using it at all, stick with aged tap water will do the job.
When i start, I played with water chemistry and not end well, my fish pissed off for the whole time.
Use the same kind of water for the rest of your fish life, RO mix, tap, well, pre-mixed.... they just have to be consistent.

Ok HarryDK I use aged tap with prime right now and the seem to be very happy
