    Default 480 litters Discus tank

    Hello all from Bulgaria.

I'm reading this forum for many years now. Actually from here the spark for keeping Discus has started for myself. Great forum and great community. I have started keeping Discus few years ago. Had 10 really good fully grown fish in 500 litters 200x50x50 cm. tank, but at one time i had to give them away as i wasn't home for a long time. Few months ago I've got a new tank and 13 beautiful fish.

    The tank is 140x50x70 cm.
    Filtration 3 canister filters 2000 l/h. each.
The fish are 12 blue diamonds and 1 Red and White, all are about 8 months old now.
Also i have about 20 corries and 10 red neon tetras.
The lights are 4x54W with 8 hours photo period.

Here are the pictures, hope you enjoy them.

excellent example of a well executed planted discus tank. your fish look great, as does your scape and your plants. I like the look of the single species with the one odd ball red/white

I think the red one draws the eye more to the fish then the scape of the tank.

Hi Neighbour and welcome to the forum .
Yout tank setup and your discus both looks really nice.
The Red melon is great in shape and colours too , I wish there was at least one more in the batch .

How do you run your 3 canisters Dimo ? Do you have them attached inline or they run separately ?
Isn't the current too fast with 3 -2000 lph filters?
Its a good thing that you've pointed the flow towards the planted area so that it can push away the dirt out in the open area for easier cleaning .

What kind of substrate do you have ? It adds nice looking colour as a contrast to the greenery.

And lastly , where did you bought those discus from , if you don't mind me asking . I might need that info. just in case I decide to buy nice looking discus my self .
Cheers Dimo , and please keep us posted with updates from this beauty .

2 of the outflows are pointed towards the middle of the front glass from the planted area and 1 is pointed towards the planted area in the back of the tank. So it makes a circle. The substrate is JBL Manado. The Discus are bought from the best breeder in Bulgaria. I don't know if i am able to tell it here? P.M. me and ill give you his contacts.

Little update from me. Unfortunately i had to free some space and remove some of the plants as there wasn't much space left for the fish to swim. I think they are growing well and are becoming good looking. What you guys think?
