    Default Fish Nets

    Hello ,
    I wanted to start soaking all my nets .... I just don't want cross contamination ... what do you soak your nets in ? Any recommendations? Thank you

    I soak them in really hot water, when I have to use nets to different tanks.

    If the net is good quality they can usually with stand a short dip in a 10 % bleach solution followed by rinsing and air drying..but spraying them with hydrogen peroxide is probably just as effective and safer. I use both methods, Bleach if theres a known issue in the tank and peroxide just as a precaution.

    Bleach, but it eventually starts rusting the wire. Rather replace nets than fish though. I have a dozen or so cheapy nets and just bleach them all when I run out of clean ones.

    I always kept nets separate for their designated tanks, but occasionally I would help out a friend and need to use my net because theirs were too small etc. I soaked them in bleach+water mix afterwards, then rinsed and soaked them in regular water after that.
