Hi Greg and welcome to SD,
Glad you fish are doing well, but you've hit on the main breeding combo to avoid. Pigeon with non-pigeon will produce fry with lots of "peppering" , usually considered unattractive and undesirable.
Hey Everyone, So first time Discus owner here. Got these discus on Halloween about 6 days ago and last night these two were showing what looked like breeding behavior to me. They were both shaking a bit and they both had their tubes down the female pigeon was making practice passes on the driftwood there and the male leopard would kind of do some passes. I have bred many Angelfish in the past but never discus, now my question to you more experienced breeders out there is, would these two make interesting fry our would they be an undesirable fry? Also is it unusual for two discus to pair off so quickly, it's only been 4 or 5 full days in the tank.
