Default Wild Discus in Montreal Biodome

I've visited the Biodome in Montreal http://espacepourlavie.ca/en/biodome a few times before and their SA tank has had a number of SA species over the years. This time, they finally got discus. If you're in the area, check them out, it's worth it. I thought the body shape and high finnage on these was interesting, I don't think I've seen such wilds before. Any idea what they might be?

I do not think they are wild discus. I saw the "wild" discus at the Baltimore Aquarium and they were domestics.

    Very cool... thanks for sharing!

I have to agree with pat, looks like they may be a form of labeled wild as opposed to actual wild caught...

They used to have wilds many year ago.
I haven't been in the last couple of years so I can't really comment on them. From the pictures I'm kinda with Pat on this they kinda looks like stendker...but this just looking at the pictures.

What do you mean they are not real wild discus? Have they been lying to thousands of little children who saved their lunch money to come there to see their first real wild discus? Are the penguins fake, too?

I will say Sergey that IMO...there are some that would appear to be Wild Discus in that tank but the brown based ones with high dorsal fins look a lot like Stendker Santarem or Tefe's which would be domestic bred to look like wilds.

Whether wild or not...I would think the kids enjoyed the experience of just being there and sure their lunch money was well spent just for the experience alone.

The Penguins look real to me

What did you think of those discus at the Baltimore Aquarium? Maybe it was bad light but to me they looked like they had seen much better days.
